Three Opportunities Left to Learn about the Seattle Center Master Plan

The Century 21 Committee is planning to develop the Master Plan for the Seattle Center over the next 20 years in order to make the center more walkable and to conserve more energy. Meeting dates are listed below, but they’re locations are certainly not convenient for those of us who live near the center. Our guess is that they’re trying to get all the communities involved since they’ll be proposing another increase in taxes. Although nobody likes more taxes, this could be a positive plan to support considering the future expenses of maintaining current energy and transportation methods.

NEW CENTER HOUSE

REVITALIZED OPEN SPACES
Seattle Center Green Refuge

  • Active open space in the center of the city
  • Year-round play area-changes with seasons
  • Iconic public art and pedestrian amenities
  • Mural stage for community performances
  • Sustainable infrastructure on display
  • Gardens, trees, flowers, shade
  • Enhanced neighborhood connections
REDESIGN OF AMPHITHEATRE/SPORTS FACILITY
Seattle Center Amphitheater
  • Multipurpose amphitheatre/sports facility
  • Great summer performances and concerts
  • Turf field for spring and fall sports
